Vintage Lace Rosette Hanger Tutorial

Hello my darling friends!
I love displaying delicate feminine linens in my flea market booths!
However, when an item sold I was left with an unattractive dress form hanger.

So, I decided to transform my dress form hangers into fabulous vintage style lacy linen displays.

Supplies:

dress form or hanger
adhesive spray
vintage hymnal paper
Elmer's glue
glitter
old paintbrush
hot glue gun and glue sticks
lots of different lace scraps
2 long strips of lace
faux pearls
satin roses

Step 1~ Spray sections of plastic form with adhesive spray and apply vintage music paper. The paper is going to crack in spots it's ok to keep layering and smoothing paper until all the plastic is covered.
Step 2~ Next, pour some Elmer's glue in a bowl and dip your paintbrush into the glue and cover the music paper in a light layer of glue. Sprinkle a white pearl fine glitter over the whole form before the Elmer's glue dries.
Step 3~ Glue a scrap of lace at the base of the hanger hook and wrap it around the hanger until it is covered, use touches of hot glue to secure the lace.Step 4~ After the glitter and glue dry you can begin embellishing the dress form. This is where you can get really creative! I used lace scraps and made them into a rosette adding a satin rose to the center and then surrounding it with faux pearls. Layer your rosettes starting at the base of the hanger hook and work your way out. I go over the top with lots of fluffy lace rosettes and pearls. I also used two long pieces of vintage lace to trim the edge of the hanger.
Now you have a fabulous Vintage style dress form display that will pretty up any romantic linen!

Variation~For this pink form I used the same steps in the tutorial except instead of music note paper I used fabric as a base and then covered it in several layers of lace.
I also do smaller versions with cloth hangers...
I just love creating vintage styles with lace and roses!
Oooohhhh la la romantic and pretty!

Thank you for stopping by!
Squishy hugs,
Olivia

  2. These certainly are beautiful way to display your vintage wear. Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. I'm bookmarking it in the event I ever rent a booth space again (I get the itch every now and then). Until then I just may use it as a decorative element to my bedroom. Warm Hugs,
