Shabby Rose Dreamin...
As a stay at home wife and mother I know that this is the most important job in my life right now and I am thankful a million times over for all of my blessings!
As much as I love my beautiful life, I realize that if I am not careful I can easily lose touch with "me" admist making sure my family is loved, happy and well cared for.
I would like to show and tell you about one of my dreams. I absolutely looovvvve the Romantic Country (Homes) style and magazine! I have my magazines stationed everywhere in my house and I am not kidding you... a stash in my living room, office area, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, purse, car anywhere I might have a quick couple of minutes to cruise around and get ideas...

When a new issue comes out I read it over and over and then carry it around with me everywhere like it is my "blankey", giggle.  I asked my husband to pick up an issue for me at Wallgreens...he came home with the wrong magazine and said the new Romantic Country was not out yet. My sweet hubby is amazing but not really at finding things, I have to help him and the kids find everything. So naturally, I went back to Wallgreens to find Romantic Country and lo and behold there was the brand spanking new issue just waiting for me!!!! I seriously convinced the lady to let me exchange the magazine. She did! Whoo hoo!

I am such a cheapo, but when it comes to this magazine ($8) I bite the bullet and splurge on one every month,  (when I find them at garage sales or thrift stores I go crazy with delight!)

My grown up mommy dream would be to style or write for one of my favorite magazines.

I know what you are thinking (LONG SHOT) but really, might as well shoot for the moon even if I miss I have a chance of landing amidst the stars and that would be allright with me! Right now I am going to continue enjoying my life as a wife and mother! Thanks for stopping by to do a little Shabby Rose Dreaming with me! Thank you to Cindy at http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ for hosting Show and Tell Friday! A special thank you to Beverly at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ for hosting Pink Saturday!
The biggest thanks goes out to the American Soldiers for dying for our freedom! We salute and honor you for your courage and strength in all you do!

Shabby Pink Lamp Rescue!
Happy Pink Saturday! I have been out garage saleing this morning so I am posting a bit later than usual! I am in the business of junk hauling  treasure hunting so when I get bored of things I just switch them out for something new that I have found. I have a darling shabby pink lamp that I tried to take into my booth and then my son said "mommy no you cannot sell this lamp, you are taking away all of our memories".  I told him, " honey we can't keep everything. " The next day guilt set in and I hurried back to my booth to pull out our oh so sweet shabby "memory" lamp.

I found this little beauty in the off season at a flea market and painted its base white. The shade is a light pink and it casts the prettiest glow at night. Funny what little things create memories in our childrens minds...I had no idea my son really noticed the lamps and such. My family goes along with all of my shabbying of the house and they must enjoy it more than I thought~ Giggle

These are my little memory makers...
(my little guy in the center is the one who "missed the lamp")

Well, my memory makers and house need my attention! Have a lovely pink Saturday and a blessed Sunday! Big squishy hugs to Beverely at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ for letting all of us pinkies get together!

Olivia

Vintage Hatbox Delight!
I must share with you another delightful creation by my sweet friend Sheryl! She has several booths and one is close to my house...every once in a while I get a chance to drop by and see her handmade pillows and decorated treasures!
The sweetest vintage Hatbox decorated up with all kinds of goodies!
I just adore the hanmade rose embellishments she uses!
I buy out of Sheryl's booth and she buys out of mine...sometimes we trade stuff...
this is a picture of my space from the spring ( I actually have 2 booths).
This is my big booth...I have a shabby girlie side and then I have a man side with military and tools. I am located at Cadwell's Flea Market and Main Street Flea Market!
Right now our tourist season is at its peak and our booths are super busy...sometimes it seems kinda crazy to be in the business of "junk haulin", I am very blessed to do something I love!
Thank you for stopping by!

Shabby Pink Outdoors!
Hello Sweet friends! I have been spending alot of time outdoors and I thought I would share some of the shabby pinks I have outside of my home! In front of my home is a beautiful tree that blooms in the spring a pretty pinky purply flower!

I made this pretty shabby welcome sign for my front door...it is a little "wonky" I am not the best builder, but I thought it turned out kinda cute...

I am so busy, I do not have the time to putter in the garden so some of my "container" flowers are faux and that will just have to do for now! (Believe me girls I drool over your fresh pink roses and all of your cottage gardens...)However, I did plant a small lilac bush in my front yard, cross my fingers it lives!!!!!

I just adore this pretty pink tassle accenting the shabby blue garden cart on my front porch...

The front view where me and the gang hang out!
Well, thank you for stopping by for a visit with me and my outdoor pinks!
I hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend! To see more pinks please stop by and say hi to
Hugs,
Olivia

Shabby Chic Office Chair
Ooohh La La I have finally got around to redoing this darling old chair, it was formerly a very boring sad brown, soooooo, it got treated to the deluxe shabfabulous treatment and waa laaa...
I actually painted two of them and I just love them both, so maybe I will keep them when I have a visitor.
My house is small so my "office/studio" is in a tiny spot behind the couch...I covered the chair seats with some darling vintage shabby pillowcases... the rose print is just so perfect!

I love these darling pillows, they came from my favorite Flea Market, Fall Creek Farm.
So darling with the oh so Shabby fabric and pretty rose additions!
Don't you adore this pretty shabby lamp, so fluffy and delightful...I keep a pretty pink soft nighlight bulb in it so it can always be softly glowing...
Well, I admit not much work gets done here, mostly outside where I can sling paint!
I am off to visit some of my sweet bloggy friends to get some inspiration!
If you love white, check out White Wednesday at http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/.
soooooo much eye candy!
Fifi makes me want to pack my bags and go for a travel...Paris...Beach...Italy...anywhere really
Sigh...maybe one day

Shabby Faux Cupcake
Ohhhh don't we all just love a little sweetie treat! I am craving something right now, but I am trying to keep the pounds off for that summer swimsuit!~GIGGLE!~
Well, I have one for you that has zippity zero calories! My Shabby Faux Cupcake is easy breezy to make and makes a darling decoration or giveaway at parties!

This delightful treat is easy! I used a vintage styrofoam ornament but you can use a styrofoam ball and cover it with your favorite shabby fabric. Plop it in a real cupcake container and hot glue a little around inside edges. Fluffy up the top with lot of pretty pink tulle, roses, ribbons and baubles. Add LOTS of glitter and wha la, you have a darling faux decorative cupcake!

These are so pretty to use at special events to Shabby up a table and then give for favors!
( BONUS: They are  fairly cheap and unique!)
Also, if you add a pretty ribbon or loop a strand of pearls at the top they can hang from a Shabby white tree.
They pair up so nicely with my favorite Pink Paper Crushed Roses!
Well, I hope you are inspired by this little delight
Please check in for my June giveaway, I promise it will be something fun!
A heartfelt hug goes out to Cindy hosting Show and Tell Friday  http://romantichome.blogspot.com/
and
sweet Beverly hosting Pink Saturday http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/
Love these Parties!
Wish me luck Treasure Hunting this weekend~

For those of us with expensive tastes and thrift store budgets!

Ta Da ...frame painted white and distressed...
Below~ in its original sad condition (note $2 sticker)...

Shabby Pink Laundry Room
Happy Birthday Pink Saturday!
Since we are all domestic goddesses, why not
make our chores more glamorous and exciting!
I had paint left over from my pink powder room....so I snuck in one more pink room! I can get away with this because I do all the laundry! Giggle!
I used a pretty curtain to create a window effect. Underneath the faux window I used a vintage pink linen to cover the ugly laundry hookups!

Of course every laundry room needs a touch of class with a chandy...I did not have one, but I created one by flipping over a vintage planter, painting it and stringing some shiny baubles from it! Cheap and cheerful! Babe painted the shabby garden sign and I tacked up and old lacy tablecloth to give it a dreamy effect!

To the left I used an old shabby metal cabinet for storage!

I also used this darling vintage tea towel to hide the dryer hose...
This little shelf with fringe and vintage linen are hiding the plug in cords! I love this little heart it says,
"Pland seeds of happiness wherever you may go"...
A little paint and some waving of my Shabby wand and the laundry
chore has become a little more delightful!
Well I am off to do a little fluffing around the house!
Big squishy hugs for
for letting all of us pink lovin domestic divas get together!
Happy Pinky Saturday!
Hugs,
Olivia
