My May Mantel

These pretty roses are blooming faster than I can pick them!
This is my Shabby Rose mantel for May...

I love the idea of mantel of the month! Everything is blooming and warming up.
I used a pretty vintage gold fan mirror tucked behind the girl bust.
Accented by delicate rose gold cups and a giant floppy bloom of gorgeous garden roses!

I have really wanted a bust ( no puns) so when I saw this sweet girl today I snapped her up for $2!
Whoo Hoo!!
Do you have a pretty mantel to feature?
Email me with pictures or a link!

Sweet old Psalm book I adore! I have been around my house alot lately. Thursday, I am having a minor surgery, so, I will probably not be out for garage sales. I have been thrifting for my booths instead. I am praying that God gives me patience and a quick and easy recovery. I am a busy girl and don't like to lay around much.  I will be sharing this with....

Easy Rose Basket and Bud Vase

Happy Mother's Day sweet friends!
As usual I am a mommy on a budget and try to find ways to stretch my dollar!
Below is a sweet little fruit basket that I painted, rubbed down with stain
and added my favorite vintage Scott's Roses label to.

I also saw these darling pickle jars turned shabby containers on someone's bloggey page during Easter. (If it is you let me know so I can link back to you :) Super Easy! Paint a candlestick, and jar lid a matching color. Use your E600 glue to attach jar to candlestick! Waa Laa! Darling Shabby jar!
I used mine as a bud vase...

Adorable and Super Cheap!

Delightful garden picks!

Hello sweet friends!
I have been playing in the dirt ALOT lately...it seems to be my new therapy...
I have been weed whipping, pruning and generally getting dirt underneath my nails!

Regular glass Ball Jars have become my favorite vase!

As Mother's Day approaches I am counting my blessings...
sometimes it is easier said than done,
but I really am truly blessed to have beautiful healthy
children and sweet husband.

Cereal Box turned Vintage Rose Decor!

This week I was blessed with groceries.
Mini cereal boxes were part of the package...
you know I could not let them go to waste!
I used hot glue to secure the top of the box and then I covered the box in paper.
(Wrapped it just like a present.)
I found a label from the graphics fairy
Of course I used lots of misc doo dads to fluff up the top!
I also fluffed up a baby food jar to match the box, it is in my laundry room making money as I do laundry! Giggle!
Ok, probably a little over the top when you start shabbying cereal boxes!
Listen, I am a mommy on a budget!
These little cereal boxes were too cute to toss!

Shabby Ruffle Pink Cake Tutorial!

Soooo, yesterday, I was headed to Michael's craft store when I got the idea to stop in the Salvation Army with two small children.
My intentions were to stir up a batch of faux cupcakes and instead,
I was derailed by my super deals and the Smurf princesses my daughter and her play date.
I found the most fabulous deal on Shabby ruffled lace .50 cents!!!
Still intimidated by the faux cake makers and flustered excited by the small children.
I decided to skip Michael's and use foam and fabric to make my cakes...
A close up of the slice of Shabby Ruffle Cake!
Deelish fluffiness!
The foam came in a box of packing peanuts I just used scissors and cut shapes.
I made a slice for each of the girls, for theirs, I used pink and white polka dot ribbon.
My sweet little princesses also cut MANY foam shapes with their little scissors!
Here are the supplies I used...
Shabby ruffle ribbon
styrofoam
hot glue
satin roses and misc doo dads
white linen napkin
Cut your foam into desired shape then glue white linen over the foam.
Try to nip and tuck the fabric and glue to fabric, the foam will melt.
Once the foam is covered in fabric you can glue on your pretty ruffled trim.
Add lots of rose goodies and doo dads to the top for maximum fluff appeal!
Waa Laa a delightful treat!
All this cake making made me hungry for the real thing!
I am no gourmet but these box cupcakes turned out pretty yummy!
 Yummy!
I will be sharing this fabulous adventure with...

Marie Antoinette hanger and pink cupcake!

Let them eat cake and create Shabby hangers!
I love pretty hangers to display vintage linens and baby dresses!
This wooden hanger got the Shabba Dabba Doo white paint job,
then I printed and pasted this sweet picture of a young Marie Antoinette to the center.
Flowers and fluff to the top and waa laa, a pretty way to dress up any Shabby item!
Speaking of cake I am contemplating trying to create a faux pink cupcake.
I have watched a couple of tutorials and there are several different ways to make faux pink cupcakes.
I am wondering which is the easiest and most successful?~
Speaking of easy I found these little pink cupcake party favors at Michael's for $1.
Deelish! Huh? The best part no calories!
Anyhoo, have a lovely and blessed day!
Thanks for stopping by my Shabby cottage!

Shabby Easter!

Hello! Happy Easter Weekend!
Aren't these Vintage Easter Bunnies with their mommy just darling?!
I could not resist fluffing up my sideboard with bunnies, chicks and plenty of Easter goodies!
The kids and I LOVE light up villages
~they are a bit corney~
but for the holidays seem magical to me!!
I finally got around the umph to Shabby up this cute little chair!
Yummy whites with a Ralph Lauren valance used for the seat of the chair...
needs to go in my booth but I must hang on to it for a bit!
These sweet little tea rests came from Sonia at Creating Vintage Charm!
I am so thankful for the blessings God has given me and my family...
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
I pray for all of you Shabby Rose loving friends to have a safe and happy Easter Holiday!
