A couple of weeks ago I found this lamp at a resale shop for $3. It did not have a shade and needed to be painted a lighter white. So I dragged it home and put two coats of flat antique white paint on it.
For the shade I used a wire Halloween pumpkin that I flipped over and draped a Shabby Chic style vintage linen over the top.
I am crazy about vintage linens and I love the look of them on lampshades!
I need one of those deelish faux cakes I see floating around blog world to put on my cake plate. Maybe if I get a faux cake I will not want to eat the real thing.
I am trying to lay off the sweets since summer is right around the corner. However, I will admit I am addicted to brownies right now, the pre packaged kind that you buy super cheap at Wal-Mart.
Today is my helper day at my daughters pre-school. I am looking forward to it! Little people do the funnies things.
I will be sharing this with

Squishy Hugs,
So pretty! Who'd of thunk there's a pumpkin under there! Hobby Lobby just had a sale on realistic fake fruit, bread, and cheese (I Stocked up!) I don't know if they had pastries--but there are some good deals to be had on Etsy or if you're feeling extra crafty, some plaster of pairs, foam, craft paint, food color and cake piping supplies can make a fake one. I have a fake cake that is a foam form covered in silk flower blooms--it always gets compliments when I set a faux tea table!

This turned out beautifully-so soft and romantic!
ReplyDeleteYou and I are on the same wave length, I think! For starters, I've got an old lamp and a stack of doilies that I'm planning on turning into a similarly styled lamp! Secondly, I've been kicking around buying some of those "fake cakes" too...but I'm afraid that looking at it all day long would actually cause me to crave cake so bad that I'd need to MAKE one!! :) Thirdly...I've been craving brownies too---as well as peanut butter bars!! AAHHH!!! Must be strong!!! :) Ha!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Sarah

Hi Olivia,
ReplyDeleteFirst I must say that mirror needs to come live with me. ♥ Just so beautiful....the lamp transformation is so fun. I've draped doilies of all kinds on four lamps in my great room. I even used prissy vintage collars that just happened to fit around the top portion of the shade.
Thanks so much for visiting with me today! You come by anytime.
Hugs,
Stephanie ♥
