My little Fairy Princess and I decided to
pick up pine cones outside of her preschool.
I just knew I wanted to paint and pretty
them up and who can resist FREE!
I made these last year but I hand painted each one!
This year I got a little smarter and decided to dip them using a large plastic storage container.
How to make painted pine cone Ornaments!
Put about 2 cups of paint in a large container.
Add 6 pine cones. Slowly move your container upside down a couple of times. Pine cones should be mostly covered. Remove with tongs and gently shake pine cones to get out excess paint. Turn pine cones as you let them dry, move to a new sheet of wax paper if there is alot of extra paint. Once dry add fabulous glitter, lace, vintage baubles and ribbon to the top to make a gorgeous ornament!
These are a little messy but the end result is well worth it, they look so cute in a pretty tea cup!
Have fun and please send me pictures if you try this and I will feature you on my blog!

Hi Olivia,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on painting the pinecones. I made them last year and they sold however, they were very messy to make. I was trying to brush the paint on and I wasted more paint than I needed! LOL.
I'll try it your way next time.
hugs
Sissie

ReplyDeleteMany hugs! Tammy

Hi Olivia, I like the idea of putting them all together, it does save time that's for sure. You did a great job making them as sweet as ever with the pink embellishments on top.
