My Shabby Pink Bathroom

Confessions of a pink addict!

That's right you got it, I have a Shabby Chic pink bathroom that 

I am working on making fabulous without over doing it and 
at the same time keeping things kid friendly.

My little princess and I picked some fresh flowers today and they smell delightful!

 This candle holder did not sell in my booth, so I fluffed it up with a teacup and some crystals.

I hunted down some plate holders at Michael's and hung these pretty plates above my cabinet.

I'm trying sooooo hard not to junk things up,
I just have a hard time knowing when to stop!

 I love little lamps and night lights!

Check out this $2 teacup I found at the Fall Creek Flea Market.

Would you believe that I am looking for more rose plates to hang on the wall!!!!

One of my all time favorite finds...a Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Shower curtain!

Tomorrow I am going junking with one of my best friends. 

We are both on super strict budgets (pennies) 

So, wish me luck in finding a couple of gorgeous shabby rose plates to add to my

fluffy pink bathroom.

Painted White Dresser Makeover

Hello sweet friends!

I just cannot get enough of painted furniture!

Saturday I painted this shabby old desk white with green drawers.

 I found this vintage dresser at a garage sale for the bargain price of $5!

Yippee! I used regular old Wal-Mart flat white paint....it took 3 coats. I mixed up a special concoction of green for the drawers and then I brush painted the handles a light pink.

Due to the condition of the dresser I used sandpaper to heavily distress it after painting it white.

I found the perfect spot for this darling dresser underneath my shabby shutter shelf!

 I gave up my antique hoosier cabinet (went to my flea market booth) in exchange for the desk.

However, I kept this super cool enamel pitcher and bowl set!

Yummy! Antiques are just so fun!

Shabby Hall Tree

I have dreaming of a hall tree made out of an old door for some time now.

Last week my dear husband built one for me out of supplies we had in the garage!

Guess my weird old salvage piece hoarding is paying off! Giggles!

Adorable huh?! 

This is what she looked like before I shabba dabba dooed her!

He used an old door for the back and an old bed for the sides.

 The top has a pretty little wooden shelf!

I added a cute Paris sign with vintage tin on each side!

Of course some yummy shabby pillows are a must! 

I painted the seat a pretty Shabby Chic green and pink stripe.

 I am saving my pennies for one of those to die for gorgeous pillows
that my sweet friend Brenda over at

  Shabby Cats and Roses creates! 

I think this dainty and delightful pillow below would be perfect!

Faux Cottage Cake

Let them eat cake!

Ooooh La La! Who can resist these delightful deelish cakes?!

Especially since they are fat and calorie free! Whoo Hoo!

A couple of days ago my best friend and I got the wild idea that we were needed some faux cakes, so, we went surfing around looking for ideas. I remembered my sweet friend Mari over at

A Pocket Full of Roses showing some really pretty faux cakes and that is how I found Rhonda!

Easy Scott's Roses Jar

Happy Pink Saturday my fluffy shabby lovin friends!

This darling canning jar got a touch of spring pink love!

 This is a pretty simple project. 

Start with a regular old glass jar (I used a large canning jar)

Print the Vintage Scott's roses label from your computer onto a piece of regular paper. 

I used good ole Elmer's school glue to attach it to the jar. 

After I attached the label I found a pretty vintage scrap of lace and wrapped it around the top.

Then I fluffed the top with a pink and white polka dot bow, lace and faux roses!

I gave this pretty jar to a sweet friend to cheer her up. 

It is raining today and I think I have inspired myself to make some more!

Lamp Makeover

A couple of weeks ago I found this lamp at a resale shop for $3. It did not have a shade and needed to be painted a lighter white. So I dragged it home and put two coats of flat antique white paint on it.

For the shade I used a wire Halloween pumpkin that I flipped over and draped a Shabby Chic style vintage linen over the top.

I am crazy about vintage linens and I love the look of them on lampshades!

 I need one of those deelish faux cakes I see floating around blog world to put on my cake plate. Maybe if I get a faux cake I will not want to eat the real thing.

I am trying to lay off the sweets since summer is right around the corner. However, I will admit I am addicted to brownies right now, the pre packaged kind that you buy super cheap at Wal-Mart.

Today is my helper day at my daughters pre-school. I am looking forward to it! Little people do the funnies things.

Reaaranging Furniture

Yesterday, I rearranged my living room wall. I moved the sofa table behind the coach to the far wall and added light pink shutters to my shabby shutter shelf creation.

  Next, I painted the inside of my faux fireplace white.

 I found an antique table ($5) that flips up and down this weekend at a tag sale.

I painted it white and I would love to add a beautiful shabby floral applique to the center.

While I had the white paint out I shabbied the wall sconces. I am on the look out for a set of 4 matching shabby mini lamp shades to add to the top.

My husband works long hours. Yesterday, I saw him for about 20 minutes.

When I am home with the kids I play with them and paint in between housework. Rearranging and painting furniture helps me stay sane.

 I snapped these pictures yesterday to see how everything looked. I was not planning to use them, but my excitement got the best of me.

I also wanted to share with you my dear mother in law has opened an etsy shop with beautiful hand painted Shabby Chic signs. She has an amazing God given talent her work is just gorgeous!
