Heirlooms

Hello lovelies!
My father is downsizing from our large family home to a cabin...
so, he has ALOT of stuff to get rid of.
I am trying to integrate several gorgeous furniture pieces into my home.
Now, they are very dark antique wood...
I soooooooo want to paint it all white.
However, with an heirloom piece of furniture,
I would like to keep them in their original condition?
The big glass thingeys are from Pottery Barn!
(My dad has good taste)
They are so nice and roomey for fruit and seasonal treats.

In other news the lamp tramp has struck again and
I am hoarding these darling Shabby Chic rose lampshades.
Aren't they cute...they almost don't need lamps.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me.
A special thank you for the prayers and encouragement you all
have offered as I deal with my personal health issues.
I will be sharing this with

Pink Saturday
My Romantic Home

Have a beautiful and blessed day!
Big squishy hugs,
Olivia

  1. That mirror is gorgeous! I have a hard time not painting everything white but I have kept a couple pieces original. Nate says you shouldn't paint anything over 100 years old. Have a good weekend!

  3. Hello sweet Olivia,

Oh you lucky girl! NO, I wouldn't paint the antiques. They are using dark furniture with whites now. Oh that mirror is gorgeous!!

  6. Hi Olivia,

My first visit to your blog. Love your news about getting all sorts of neat items from your father. His cabin sounds intriguing. Is he going far away from you? Hope not.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

LOVE those lamp shades. I have two tall skinny girlie chippy white lamps w/o shades -they would work together beautifully, haha.

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  7. Olivia,
    So lovely!!
Hope you are feeling good today. Yesterday was a good day for me until i decided to eat fish and pierogies for supper. I only had a small piece of fish and 3 pierogies and in an hour, I thought I was having a heart attack. Food has become my enemy ,.... I do need to lose a lot of weight but I wish I could do it another way other than this....

    Hugs,
    Deb

  10. Happy Pink Saturday Olivia Sweetie...
Oh what a gorgeous share this afternoon. I love seeing the pieces that belong to your Dad. Isn't it wonderful when they decide to downsize and we get to bring some of home into our current homes. Every time you dust that piece you will think of your precious Dad and the love that he gave when he shared this piece with you. It is exquisite.

I continue to keep you in my prayers dear one. One day at a time. We must talk again soon. Squishy hugs and much love, Sherry

  12. I think it is a good idea to leave some of the furniture as it may retain more value but also someday you may want to change your decor and then if everything is painted that would be harder to do. It looks lovely among your white things.

  14. Beautiful heirlooms! If you hate the wood on the heirloom then paint it. It will still be the same family heirloom to suit your tastes. I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I'll keep you in my prayers.

    hugs!
