Pink Saturday

Hello my lovelies!
My friend Sue built this darling garden table using an old
window at the back. I love the Shabby green color she used.January and February are slower times in our
Flea Market so I am doing some fluffing and spring cleaning!
Of course I had to add some pretty pink accents for Valentine's!
On a personal note:
I have been wading through alot of Doctors tests and medications...
I am realizing that some things in life aren't fixed quick.
OH my what a test of patience!!!!
I am more frustrated with myself, because I cannot paint and craft as much as I want.
MAYBE IT IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY AND NOT THE DESTINATION!?
Love and hugs to all!

Vintage Lace Rosette Hanger Tutorial

Hello my darling friends!
I love displaying delicate feminine linens in my flea market booths!
However, when an item sold I was left with an unattractive dress form hanger.

So, I decided to transform my dress form hangers into fabulous vintage style lacy linen displays.

Supplies:

dress form or hanger
adhesive spray
vintage hymnal paper
Elmer's glue
glitter
old paintbrush
hot glue gun and glue sticks
lots of different lace scraps
2 long strips of lace
faux pearls
satin roses

Step 1~ Spray sections of plastic form with adhesive spray and apply vintage music paper. The paper is going to crack in spots it's ok to keep layering and smoothing paper until all the plastic is covered.
Step 2~ Next, pour some Elmer's glue in a bowl and dip your paintbrush into the glue and cover the music paper in a light layer of glue. Sprinkle a white pearl fine glitter over the whole form before the Elmer's glue dries.
Step 3~ Glue a scrap of lace at the base of the hanger hook and wrap it around the hanger until it is covered, use touches of hot glue to secure the lace.Step 4~ After the glitter and glue dry you can begin embellishing the dress form. This is where you can get really creative! I used lace scraps and made them into a rosette adding a satin rose to the center and then surrounding it with faux pearls. Layer your rosettes starting at the base of the hanger hook and work your way out. I go over the top with lots of fluffy lace rosettes and pearls. I also used two long pieces of vintage lace to trim the edge of the hanger.
Now you have a fabulous Vintage style dress form display that will pretty up any romantic linen!

Variation~For this pink form I used the same steps in the tutorial except instead of music note paper I used fabric as a base and then covered it in several layers of lace.
I also do smaller versions with cloth hangers...
I just love creating vintage styles with lace and roses!
Oooohhhh la la romantic and pretty!

Thank you for stopping by!

Shabby Chic Linens

Hello my darling friends!
A huge squishy hug for all of you that visited me last week on Pink Saturday!
I read every comment and I am so thankful for each and every visit.

I simply adore Shabby Chic colors and linens.
This is the sweetest bench Mr. Romantic built out of a twin bed,
the quilt is from the Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic bedding.
I love the different textures woven into the patchwork.

Valentine's is the perfect excuse to use lots of lace, ruffles
and hearts scattered about. (Not that I really need an excuse)
~Giggles~
NOTE: I have been having some problems with my hands and feet
going numb and I am having to rest alot.

I am not one for sitting still, but it does make me stop and notice things like the textures of romantic linens.
My doctor does not know what is wrong, he wants to do an MRI of my spine.
Cross my fingers and toes this is minor.

Over time, I have learned that romance is more than just flowers, chocolates and love notes.
For me it is about falling in love with my life right where I am.
Listening to my heart and loving the people around me as much as I can.

Thank you again for your visits!
I hope you have a blessed day and if you are struggling don't give up!
Lots of love sent your way!
I am partying with
My Romantic Home

Pink Saturday

Shabby Cottage Pink Saturday Feature!

Hello my darling lovely friends!
Welcome to my Romantic Cottage!

My name is Olivia, I have a wonderful husband and I am a mommy to three darling children. We have a sweet little home that I enjoy fluffing up on a regular basis.

Oh my yes...who said laundry had to be boring!
I spend alot of time doing laundry might as well make it pretty place!

Besides being a busy mom, I have two flea market booths and an Etsy store!
I simply adore just about anything and everything Shabby and Romantic!
I like to find discarded items and turn them into fabulous treasures.
Let's stop for a moment and enjoy a sweet treat!

Pink and white are my favorite colors...
They are calming, soothing and happy for me to look at.
A peak in my pink powder room.

I am a thrifty gal and a HUGE believer that you can decorate your home in a cozy cottage style on any budget no matter how tiny it may be! Think outside the box...don't be shy about hunting for treasures in handmade Etsy stores, resale shops, flea markets and tag sales!
It is amazing what pink and white paint can do...most of my items come from tag sales and flea markets and then I paint them to match my cottage colors.
While it is still nice out, let's have a spot of tea on my romantic porch...

Yummy Treats!
