Hope

Sometimes we all just need to light a candle and pray for hope.
Hope for the future and for God to help us all love each other.
Stop for a moment and think about your heart.
Has someone hurt your heart and you need to truly forgive them.
I found myself this week crying out to God to empty my heart of unforgiveness.
I believe that peace was there all along, I just did not want to let it in until now.
Guess what?
The next day, after praying, I let all that yucky junk in my heart go.
Wow! I can't tell you how much better I feel!
Sooooo, if you get the chance,
ask God to....
help you pull up your big girl britches!
Please continue to pray for the families in Joplin, MO.
My stepson and his family live in Joplin. They all are physically ok, but their home is damaged.
They are currently staying with my mother in law, local churches and friends are helping us reach out to them to fill their needs. God is good, just continue to pray!
Happy Birthday for all you Pink Saturday lovers, one of my faves!!
Love ya'll!

Scrolly Cottage Mirrors for under $5

Today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite shabby mirrors.
Note: (I got all of them for under $5!! Yup it's true)
My home is small and cozy, I love the way these antique mirrors reflect light and make my home
appear a little larger.
Below is one of my favorites!
I shabbied it very carefully because it was so old.
Sometimes I find a mirror and end up just using the frame.
This one I made a small collage of mirrors inside the scrolly mirror frame.
I paint most of my mirrors.
I have to be patient to find them this cheap!
Trust me, there is an antique mirror at the flea market I am drooling over...tag...$50.
Anyhoo, hope you enjoyed the reflection!

Free Thrift Store Chair turned FABULOUS!

I am a hopeless romantic for discarded treasures, such is the case for this abandoned chair...

She was in terrible forgotten, hopeless condition! On the left you can see
the bad fabric and worn wood. I painted up the wood and recovered the fabric with
old pillowcases . I fluffed up the sides with extra lace from an extra valance I had.

I had no intention of keeping this fluffy chair until she found a
spot in the corner of my living room!

Pretty little embroidered pillow with dainty pink and yellow flowers!
I just love fluffy ruffles! Can you tell?

I added this cute wall pocket with fluffy pink roses to the front of my little faux fireplace screen table...

Thank you for stopping by!
 Have a delightful weekend!
Happy Pink Saturday!

My May Mantel

These pretty roses are blooming faster than I can pick them!
This is my Shabby Rose mantel for May...

I love the idea of mantel of the month! Everything is blooming and warming up.
I used a pretty vintage gold fan mirror tucked behind the girl bust.
Accented by delicate rose gold cups and a giant floppy bloom of gorgeous garden roses!

I have really wanted a bust ( no puns) so when I saw this sweet girl today I snapped her up for $2!
Whoo Hoo!!
Do you have a pretty mantel to feature?
Email me with pictures or a link!

Sweet old Psalm book I adore! I have been around my house alot lately. Thursday, I am having a minor surgery, so, I will probably not be out for garage sales. I have been thrifting for my booths instead. I am praying that God gives me patience and a quick and easy recovery. I am a busy girl and don't like to lay around much.  I will be sharing this with....

Easy Rose Basket and Bud Vase

Happy Mother's Day sweet friends!
As usual I am a mommy on a budget and try to find ways to stretch my dollar!
Below is a sweet little fruit basket that I painted, rubbed down with stain
and added my favorite vintage Scott's Roses label to.

I also saw these darling pickle jars turned shabby containers on someone's bloggey page during Easter. (If it is you let me know so I can link back to you :) Super Easy! Paint a candlestick, and jar lid a matching color. Use your E600 glue to attach jar to candlestick! Waa Laa! Darling Shabby jar!
I used mine as a bud vase...

Adorable and Super Cheap!

Delightful garden picks!

Hello sweet friends!
I have been playing in the dirt ALOT lately...it seems to be my new therapy...
I have been weed whipping, pruning and generally getting dirt underneath my nails!

Regular glass Ball Jars have become my favorite vase!

As Mother's Day approaches I am counting my blessings...
sometimes it is easier said than done,
but I really am truly blessed to have beautiful healthy
children and sweet husband.

Cereal Box turned Vintage Rose Decor!

This week I was blessed with groceries.
Mini cereal boxes were part of the package...
you know I could not let them go to waste!
I used hot glue to secure the top of the box and then I covered the box in paper.
(Wrapped it just like a present.)
I found a label from the graphics fairy
Of course I used lots of misc doo dads to fluff up the top!
I also fluffed up a baby food jar to match the box, it is in my laundry room making money as I do laundry! Giggle!
Ok, probably a little over the top when you start shabbying cereal boxes!
Listen, I am a mommy on a budget!
These little cereal boxes were too cute to toss!
I will be sharing this with
