Shabby Ruffle Pink Cake Tutorial!

Soooo, yesterday, I was headed to Michael's craft store when I got the idea to stop in the Salvation Army with two small children.
My intentions were to stir up a batch of faux cupcakes and instead,
I was derailed by my super deals and the Smurf princesses my daughter and her play date.
I found the most fabulous deal on Shabby ruffled lace .50 cents!!!
Still intimidated by the faux cake makers and flustered excited by the small children.
I decided to skip Michael's and use foam and fabric to make my cakes...
A close up of the slice of Shabby Ruffle Cake!
Deelish fluffiness!
The foam came in a box of packing peanuts I just used scissors and cut shapes.
I made a slice for each of the girls, for theirs, I used pink and white polka dot ribbon.
My sweet little princesses also cut MANY foam shapes with their little scissors!
Here are the supplies I used...
Shabby ruffle ribbon
styrofoam
hot glue
satin roses and misc doo dads
white linen napkin
Cut your foam into desired shape then glue white linen over the foam.
Try to nip and tuck the fabric and glue to fabric, the foam will melt.
Once the foam is covered in fabric you can glue on your pretty ruffled trim.
Add lots of rose goodies and doo dads to the top for maximum fluff appeal!
Waa Laa a delightful treat!
All this cake making made me hungry for the real thing!
I am no gourmet but these box cupcakes turned out pretty yummy!
 Yummy!
I will be sharing this fabulous adventure with...

Marie Antoinette hanger and pink cupcake!

Let them eat cake and create Shabby hangers!
I love pretty hangers to display vintage linens and baby dresses!
This wooden hanger got the Shabba Dabba Doo white paint job,
then I printed and pasted this sweet picture of a young Marie Antoinette to the center.
Flowers and fluff to the top and waa laa, a pretty way to dress up any Shabby item!
Speaking of cake I am contemplating trying to create a faux pink cupcake.
I have watched a couple of tutorials and there are several different ways to make faux pink cupcakes.
I am wondering which is the easiest and most successful?~
Speaking of easy I found these little pink cupcake party favors at Michael's for $1.
Deelish! Huh? The best part no calories!
Anyhoo, have a lovely and blessed day!
Thanks for stopping by my Shabby cottage!

Shabby Easter!

Hello! Happy Easter Weekend!
Aren't these Vintage Easter Bunnies with their mommy just darling?!
I could not resist fluffing up my sideboard with bunnies, chicks and plenty of Easter goodies!
The kids and I LOVE light up villages
~they are a bit corney~
but for the holidays seem magical to me!!
I finally got around the umph to Shabby up this cute little chair!
Yummy whites with a Ralph Lauren valance used for the seat of the chair...
needs to go in my booth but I must hang on to it for a bit!
These sweet little tea rests came from Sonia at Creating Vintage Charm!
I am so thankful for the blessings God has given me and my family...
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I pray for all of you Shabby Rose loving friends to have a safe and happy Easter Holiday!

Deelish Pink Tulips!

Hello my pinky loving friends!
Today I painted mini spring tulip pots.
This was a super easy craft and I found the perfect spot for them underneath my
Shabby Chic layered curtains on my kitchen windowsill!
I got these little clay pots at a garage sale super cheap and I painted them pink.
Inside the pot I hot glued a tiny piece of styrofoam and then I hot glued the moss around the edges.
I also received my pretty faux cakes
 from Rhonda over
Her faux cottage cakes are so darling and a must for the Shabby Rose lover!
Thank you for stopping by our cottage!
Happy Pink Saturday!

My Shabby Pink Bathroom

Confessions of a pink addict!
That's right you got it, I have a Shabby Chic pink bathroom that
I am working on making fabulous without over doing it and
at the same time keeping things kid friendly.
My little princess and I picked some fresh flowers today and they smell delightful!
This candle holder did not sell in my booth, so I fluffed it up with a teacup and some crystals.
I hunted down some plate holders at Michael's and hung these pretty plates above my cabinet.
I'm trying sooooo hard not to junk things up,
I just have a hard time knowing when to stop!
I love little lamps and night lights!
Check out this $2 teacup I found at the Fall Creek Flea Market.
Would you believe that I am looking for more rose plates to hang on the wall!!!!
One of my all time favorite finds...a Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Shower curtain!
Tomorrow I am going junking with one of my best friends.
We are both on super strict budgets (pennies)
So, wish me luck in finding a couple of gorgeous shabby rose plates to add to my
fluffy pink bathroom.

Painted White Dresser Makeover

Hello sweet friends!
I just cannot get enough of painted furniture!
Saturday I painted this shabby old desk white with green drawers.
I found this vintage dresser at a garage sale for the bargain price of $5!
Yippee! I used regular old Wal-Mart flat white paint....it took 3 coats. I mixed up a special concoction of green for the drawers and then I brush painted the handles a light pink.
Due to the condition of the dresser I used sandpaper to heavily distress it after painting it white.
I found the perfect spot for this darling dresser underneath my shabby shutter shelf!
I gave up my antique hoosier cabinet (went to my flea market booth) in exchange for the desk.
However, I kept this super cool enamel pitcher and bowl set!
Yummy! Antiques are just so fun!
I will be sharing this with Cielo at
Have a beautiful blessed day!
